Two Hours and One Pink Flamingo

I wrote this entry last week. What I mean is I wrote an entry last week meant for now and I just read it back and hated it, like what was I even waffling on about? We’ll never know. Anyway, I spent last week getting loads ticked off and being really productive just so I could have the Friday free (as free as a Friday with two birthday parties and a kids club could be), instead a ‘quick’ trip to the shops for last minute bits turned into TWO HOURS and one pink flamingo later which meant I was then completely dead. Attended a children’s party where I couldn’t be any more awkward if I tried, for some reason I tend to park myself somewhere at these things then become a statue who apparently can’t move or join in established conversation like a normal human, I just stood and hoped the kids needed me for something or other so I looked busy.

I have an idea stuck in my head which means I’ll no doubt end up redecorating at some point and ignore the fact that I redecorated our entire hallway a few weeks before Christmas last year, painted the doors the wrong colour and left them covered in frog tape for two months despite me having the correct colour sat in the cupboard. I did however, paint said doors white on a whim today (in preparation for the correct colour) when I should have been writing. Basically, if something needs doing I am guaranteed to do something else, I made an Audrey 2 plant out of a pistachio shell instead of packing a few weeks ago.

I ordered a jumpsuit from Lucy & Yak before I went on holiday, left it in the packaging in my wardrobe and forgot about it. I’ve never ordered from there but I love all the bright colours, there’s a woman I see who always wears their stuff and she always looks like sunshine. I digress, I tried it on Friday and LOL! It seems I saw the jumpsuit advertised on a model with bright orange hair and thought ‘Yes! I will look just like her, great!’ forgetting the fact that A. My hair has not been bright orange for over a year and B. that model is not 5’4”. Safe to say it’s probably going on vinted.

Alas, nonsense.

  • Packing (in my mind)

Why is packing such a nightmare? So many fucking categories. Wonder if everyone else tries on every single thing they own before packing it then inevitably take a bunch of things they definitely won’t end up wearing?! Probably not. I like to think I’m very organised ever since my bestie gave me the packing cubes…
