Floater Friend

Despite my routine being thrown off several times this week I’ve actually managed to get a lot of my never ending to do list ticked off, I may have washed the same load of washing four times because I forgot it existed after I pressed go and left but at least I know it’s realllly clean. I wonder if anyone else gets the sudden urge to GET SHIT DONE at the start of their period??
Just started watching the false prophet, I don’t usually watch documentaries but I was reassured by the fact that this one was going to expose the bad guys rather than just glorify their awfulness (is that a word?) for viewer entertainment. I’m not a true crime fan, I find it quite disturbing and I have very strong feelings about the fact that the creators don’t have to seek permission from victims, they can just tell ‘their’ story and traumatise them all over again. They do tend to ask them to get involved which must be their version of decency. Well, I’m one episode in and I feel like I’m watching the handmaid’s tale again, I mean WHAT THE FUCK. I found the part where the policeman describes not listening to evidence again as ‘not burdening a gentle heart’, you sir are a fucking police officer I don’t think you get that luxury in your line of work?!
Recently saw a post abut ‘floater friends’. Apparently, floater friends are people that basically just float around different friendship groups, sort of get on with everyone but are never really part of the core group. Hard relate! I’ve always thought of myself as someone that had friends but they were usually all paired off into best friends. I mean I do have friends, but I only really have one long term best friend (who is the absolute best human ever!). I’ve never really minded and as I’ve grown older I’ve found that the people I’m most drawn to are either neurospicy (same) or have the kind of big, confident kind personalities that I love. I‘ve never really had any tolerance for bullshit so you can imagine how well that went during high school. I once called my french teacher a sexist pig for saying masculine comes before feminine because men are better than women and I wrote my biology teacher a note calling him out for giving me the lowest possible mark on my report card after getting one piece of unfinished work (no YOU have a strong sense of injustice!) and he apologised! In terms of friendships, it probably doesn’t help that because of my ADHD out of sight out of mind can be quite literal. Not sure I love the term floater friend though, just makes me think of Kevin and Perry go large, I think I prefer wanderer or nomad friend.
Alas, nonsense.
